What metal do you use to make Art Karat jewelry?
All our jewelry is made in a pure silver base plated with gold.

 

Does your jewelry tarnish/go black after a while since its made on silver and gold plated?
We have a lifetime warranty on our plating. All Art Karat jewelry is plated with 6 microns of gold (6 layers), which is a very thick layer of gold on top. We assure you that nothing goes wrong with the plating, however if you ever feel that you need to get your piece re-plated, for your satisfaction, we will re-plate it at no cost to you. What kind of stones do you use in your jewelry?
At Art Karat we only use precious and semi-precious authentic gemstones. We never use anything artificial or synthetic. The precious stones used are rubies, emeralds & blue sapphires and the semi-precious stones include iolite, citrine, amethyst, zircon, black onyx, tigers’ eye, khambatis, yellow sapphires, aquamarine, cornelian, rose quartz, smoky quartz, corals, turquoise and peridot. All pearls are genuine fresh water pearls.

 

What is the price range of your jewelry?
The prices of our jewelry range between $50-$1000 or equivalent currency.

 

Why is Art Karat priced higher in comparison to costume jewelry or other jewelry made on silver?
Art Karat jewelry is NOT costume, fake or artificial. It is real. All our jewelry is made on pure silver plated with 6 microns of 22K gold and studded only with genuine gemstones. We absolutely never use anything artificial or synthetic. Moreover the same craftsmen who make jewelry in gold make our jewelry, hence our making charges are higher than other jewelry made on silver as the level of craftsmanship is much superior, sometimes even better than gold based jewelry.

 

Where are your stores?
At this time our stores are only located in New Delhi, India. We are in the process of opening more stores across India, USA and the UK. The locations will be posted on our website as and when they are opened. Please see Stores for details.

 

Are the prices of your jewelry lower at your stores in India?
Art Karat is mainly an exhibition-based business. We have more than 150 exhibitions in 70 cities across 5 continents. We try and maintain a single price policy amongst all our shows and around the globe. Our exchange policy verifies this fact, as you may exchange your selections (see Returns & exchanges for details) at any of our shows worldwide or at our stores in India. This is only possible if the prices are the same everywhere. We sometimes charge local taxes, which we must collect for the state government.

 

Will we get more variety of jewelry at your showrooms in India?
Art Karat is mainly an exhibition-based business, we tend to carry our best and latest creations when we travel for our shows, the same is true for our website and catalogs, we only include our best selling or latest designs in them.

How should the jewelry be kept and maintained?
Please maintain your Art Karat jewelry as you do your gold and diamond jewelry. We always suggest that you use the packing material, which we provide with every order, to store your jewelry for its long life. We also offer a lifetime maintenance policy where in we maintain your selection, free of cost, for as long as you own it. Please Maintenance & warranty see for details.

 

What if I don’t like what I receive in the mail?
We understand that it is difficult to order something online specially without seeing it and that’s why we offer you an exchange policy which entitles you to exchange any selection you buy online or from our mail order catalog for something else at any of our 150 shows held annually at more than 70 cities around the world or our stores in India. You may also exchange your selection for something else on our website, which we constantly update or from our future mail order catalogs. Please see Returns & exchanges for details.

What if the jewelry is defective when I receive it?
In the unfortunate event where we have shipped you a broken or defective item, we will gladly exchange it for a new item and even pay for your shipping, to and from our warehouse. Please email customercare@artkarat.com or Contact us .

 

What if I need changes in a particular piece?
We manufacture all our jewelry in house. This gives us the flexibility to alter it any way, shape or form that you may desire. If you need any changes in your selection kindly contact our customer care department in your country and we will take care of it for you. You may also email customercare@artkarat.com . I had placed an order online and haven’t received it as yet. When will I receive my order?
You may track your order online by logging into your account and checking the status of your order. You may also email customercare@artkarat.com or Contact us and one of our representatives will gladly assist you.

 

How will you ship my order?
Your orders will be shipped via a reputable courier company or the USPS in the US. Please note that all orders require a signature for release.

 

Will you inform me before you ship my order so I may arrange for someone to sign for it?
We will notify you via email that your order has been shipped with the tracking number and the website where you may track it.

 

Can I place a special order with Art Karat or give my own design to be made?
We manufacture all our jewelry in house, which gives us the flexibility to do custom orders. You may send us your design via email at customercare@artkarat.com. We will contact you with an estimate and the time it will take to make it.
